Coillte Outdoors - Ireland's leading provider of outdoor recreation

Coillte Outdoors is the recreation arm of Coillte, the Irish Forestry Board. The brand was created in 2007 to develop and promote outdoor recreation facilities for the public and is now recognised as Ireland's leading outdoor recreation provider.

There are more than 180 recreation sites and 12 forest parks listed on the Coillte Outdoors website, which attract more than 18 million visits annually.

Whether it's walking, hiking, cycling, picnicking, camping, rock-climbing, canoeing, mountain-biking, horse-riding, or almost any other outdoor activity you can think of, Coillte provide it somewhere on more than one million acres of land managed for forestry and public goods, right across the country.

We have world class mountain bike trails including the Ballyhoura MTB trail centre, Ireland's largest trail centre, and are adding to our family and forest cycle trails each year.

We develop new and innovative opportunities every year - we have just designated Ireland's first wilderness area, Wild Nephin, to reconnect with our once wild landscapes and provide an authentic and primitive recreation experience, valued by so many outdoor enthusiasts.

All of the facilities that are provided by Coillte Outdoors are open to the public free of charge. We charge a car-parking fee at some locations where we provide additional visitor facilities. This charge helps us to maintain more than 2000kms of waymarked trails, playgrounds, permanent orienteering courses, and much more that we provide - browse through our website to find the trail or site that's right for you.

All the information on sites and trails that we provide here, is also available on signs at our sites. Please print off a map (all are available as PDF's) and bring it with you on your walk, run or cycle!

We value your input and feedback so please feel free to drop us a line at info@coillteoutdoors.ie !
