Corrin, Fermoy - Notice of upcoming operations.
Dothistroma needle blight disease has been confirmed in some trees in the Corrin forest recreation area and Strawhall property. This disease can be fatal to trees and is a serious risk to national forest health. In response to this, and with the guidance of the Forest Service, harvesting of the affected trees will be carried out in the Corrin recreation area and Strawhall properties during 2017 in an effort to contain the disease. Regeneration plans have been prepared for both properties.
To ensure public safety, necessary diversions or closures will be put in place for the duration of these works. We ask members of the public to observe and obey these diversions. Thank you in advance for your co-operation and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Proposed dates for felling, forest road and car park closures will be posted here on Coillteoutdoors.ie when available.
Areas to be clear felled are highlighted in hatched brown on the aerial photography click here.
